My name is Donna Pittman and I am one lucky woman. I am surrounded every day by one of God’s most beautiful creations ~ the captivating, exquisite, ethereal beauty of flowers. Like most lovers of flowers I’m a gardener at heart, but I love it all. Flowers and design have been a life long love.
Owning a flower shop can be a dizzying love/hate passionate relationship. There is the anxiety and stress of constantly trying to please people that only a perfectionist can understand. And then the pure euphoria of seeing the success; only to begin thinking immediately of how to be more creative & innovative next time. I love flowers, but I crave creativity most of all.
Flowers + Creativity = Art I am proud to have been inducted into the American Institute of Floral Designers, an exclusive and highly selective group of the world’s most influential and honored floral design professionals. I have been named the North Carolina Designer of the Year, the Southern Retail Designer of the Year, NC James Treadaway Cup Winner and have been inducted into the North Carolina State Florist Association Hall of Fame. I also have had the privilege of decorating the Governor’s Mansion for Christmas after being selected by Mrs. James Hunt based on my portfolio.
Thanks for being a part of this wonderful ride! I really appreciate everyone of you for being a part of Flowers on Broad Street. Whether you’re a customer or a friend, thanks for being a part of this exhilarating journey.
